Grosse Pointe Development Company Inc. creates luxurious resort-style communities in a variety of premier locations in Florida. Company founder and CEO Robert D. Hensley moved to Fort Myers, Fla., in 1980 in his early 20s, drawn to area for the same reasons so many others are: excellent weather, quality of life, boating and great fishing.
     He launched Grosse Pointe Development Company in 1997. Its communities include The Residences at Bell Tower Park and Palmas del Sol, both in south Fort Myers; Tarpon Point Marina in Cape Coral; and Summerlake in Orlando. The company also owns Bonita Grande Aggregates LLC, a lime-rock operation in Bonita Springs.
     Grosse Pointe’s financial strength comes from two partner groups recognized as global leaders: Rapenburch and SNS Property Finance, both major companies in The Netherlands.
